Medical Lending Closet

Borrow medical equipment at no cost to you!

The Senior Center now offers medical equipment for a 90-day loan period at no cost to you. The following items may be loaned from the medical closet:
Medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches, tub transfer benches, shower chairs, and commodes are available for loan free of charge for a 3-MONTH PERIOD and may be RENEWED 1 TIME.

Blood Pressure Screening

Free monthly blood pressure screenings!

A change in blood pressure, whether high or low, can be an indication of a serious health concern. Regular monitoring of your blood pressure can keep you actively involved in your health care. On the 2nd Monday of each month, paramedics from Lisle Woodridge Fire Department will be available to check your blood pressure.
Note: No appointment necessary to take advantage of this free service.

Free Medicare Assistance!

Receive assistance understanding your Medicare benefits and EOB (explanation of benefits). Please bring all the necessary paperwork and statements.

Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP)

Free health insurance counseling!

The Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP), is a free statewide health insurance counseling service for Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers.
How It Can Help You

State of Illinois Department of Aging-trained Counselors provide a broad range of information on health insurance coverage for seniors including:

  • Medicare A & B (hospital/doctor)
  • Medicare C (Medicare Advantage Plans/HMG-PPO-PFFs)
  • Medicare D (Prescription Drug Plans)
  • Medicaid Programs
What To Bring To Your Appointment
  • Medicare Card (if currently enrolled)
  • Complete list of current medications
How To Protect Your New Medicare Card
  • Do not carry it in your wallet
  • Always check your Explanation of Benefits (EOB’s) for charges that you received
  • Report questionable charges
  • Make yearly appointments with SHIP counselors
How To Make An Appointment
  • Appointments are available on Monday & Wednesday
  • Appointments must be scheduled by the Wednesday prior to the appointment date
